Understanding the Comprehensive Hormone Panel
The Comprehensive Hormone Panel covers the hormones most adults investigate when looking into fatigue, libido, mood shifts, recovery, or general hormone balance — total and free testosterone, estradiol, DHEA-S, cortisol, and the full thyroid panel (TSH, Free T3, Free T4). At $299 in our Ashburn lab, the bundled price is significantly less than ordering each marker individually.
A hormone panel is not a diagnostic on its own — it gives a clinician numbers to work with. We collect the blood; you discuss the result with a primary-care, endocrinology, gynecology, or functional-medicine provider for interpretation and treatment recommendations. Many clients run the panel as a baseline before starting any hormone therapy or supplementation protocol.
Morning collection between 7 and 10 a.m. is preferred because testosterone, cortisol, and DHEA all peak in the morning. For women tracking menstrual-cycle hormones, the day of the cycle matters more than the time of day — call ahead so we can advise on optimal timing.
Why people get this test
- Persistent fatigue, low energy, or unexplained mood changes
- Libido changes in adults of any sex
- Slow recovery from training or illness
- Menstrual irregularities or perimenopausal symptoms
- Pre-supplementation baseline before testosterone replacement, HRT, or peptide protocols
- Tracking hormone trends year over year
What to expect
From check-in to results — what your visit looks like
Most visits take under 15 minutes. Here’s the full arc, start to finish.
How to prepare
Schedule a morning draw between 7 and 10 a.m. when most hormones peak. No fasting is required for the hormones themselves; if you are pairing with a metabolic panel, fast 8 to 12 hours. Take normal medications unless your prescriber says otherwise. Hold biotin / B-complex at 5 mg or higher for 72 hours before the draw — high-dose biotin can interfere with TSH and some hormone assays.
During your visit
A single small blood draw — typically two or three tubes for the full panel — completed in about 5 minutes. Most visits are 10 to 15 minutes total. The draw is performed by a trained phlebotomist in a private collection room.
Getting your results
Results post to your secure online portal within 3 to 5 business days (the specialty markers in this panel take longer to process than routine blood work). The report includes lab reference ranges for every marker. We can fax results to any provider you name — primary care, endocrinology, gynecology, functional medicine — at no additional charge.

FAQ
Comprehensive Hormone Panel — what people ask
Specific questions about the comprehensive hormone panel. For anything not covered, call 571-500-7030.
What hormones are included in this panel?
Total and free testosterone, estradiol, DHEA-S, cortisol, and the full thyroid panel (TSH, Free T3, Free T4). The exact marker list is included on your results report.
When should I get my hormone panel drawn?
Schedule a morning draw between 7 and 10 a.m. when most hormones naturally peak. For women tracking menstrual-cycle hormones, the day of the cycle matters more than time of day — call ahead so we can advise on optimal timing for your specific markers.
Do I need a doctor before or after the panel?
No — we include the doctor’s order for the panel itself. For interpretation and treatment recommendations, we recommend discussing results with a primary-care, endocrinology, gynecology, or functional-medicine provider. A hormone panel gives a clinician numbers to work with; it is not a diagnosis on its own.
