Understanding the Comprehensive Female Wellness Panel

The Comprehensive Female Wellness Panel covers every marker in the standard Comprehensive Wellness Panel plus female-specific reproductive hormones — for adults who want a complete female health snapshot in one draw. The panel includes CBC, CMP, lipid panel, A1C, thyroid (TSH, Free T3, Free T4), vitamin D, iron and ferritin, plus estradiol, progesterone, FSH, and LH.

At our Ashburn lab, the Comprehensive Female Wellness Panel is $329 — about a third less than ordering each test individually. The reproductive hormones (estradiol, progesterone, FSH, LH) are the most useful additions over the standard wellness panel for women investigating menstrual irregularities, perimenopausal symptoms, fertility questions, or pre-conception planning.

For women tracking menstrual-cycle hormones, the day of the cycle matters more than the time of day. Call ahead so we can advise on optimal timing for your specific situation. Fasting 8 to 12 hours is recommended because the panel includes the lipid panel and CMP.

Why people get this test

  • Annual female-specific baseline health labs
  • Investigating menstrual irregularities or perimenopausal symptoms
  • Pre-pregnancy or fertility planning
  • Monitoring hormone replacement therapy (HRT)
  • Pre-supplementation or pre-treatment baseline
  • Tracking values year over year for trend comparison

What to expect

From check-in to results — what your visit looks like

Most visits take under 15 minutes. Here’s the full arc, start to finish.

1

How to prepare

Fast 8 to 12 hours before the draw (plain water OK). Schedule a morning draw between 7 and 10 a.m. when most hormones peak. For cycle-tracking, call ahead so we can advise on the right day of your cycle. Take morning medications normally unless your prescriber says otherwise. Hold biotin or B-complex at 5 mg or higher for 72 hours before the draw.

2

During your visit

A single blood draw — typically three to four tubes — completed in about 5 minutes. Most visits are 10 to 15 minutes total. Despite the depth of the panel, only one needle stick is required.

3

Getting your results

Results post to your secure online portal within 24 to 72 hours (the reproductive-hormone markers may take an additional day or two depending on lab routing). The report includes lab reference ranges for every marker. We can fax the full panel to any provider — primary care, OB/GYN, endocrinology, functional medicine — at no additional charge.

FAQ

Comprehensive Female Wellness Panel — what people ask

Specific questions about the comprehensive female wellness panel. For anything not covered, call 571-500-7030.

How is this different from the standard Comprehensive Wellness Panel?

The standard Comprehensive Wellness Panel ($279) covers CBC, CMP, lipid, A1C, thyroid, vitamin D, iron, and key hormones. The Female version ($329) adds the female reproductive hormones — estradiol, progesterone, FSH, and LH. Choose the Female panel if you are tracking menstrual-cycle hormones, fertility, or perimenopausal symptoms.

When in my cycle should I get the female wellness panel?

It depends on what you are investigating. For general baseline labs, day 2 to 4 of your cycle is often used. For ovulation evaluation, around day 21. For perimenopausal workups, timing is more flexible. Call ahead and we will help you pick the right day.

Do I need to fast for this panel?

Yes — 8 to 12 hours of fasting (plain water OK) is recommended because the panel includes the lipid panel and CMP, both of which are most accurate after a fast. The hormones, thyroid, and vitamin D are not affected by fasting.
