Understanding the Immigration DNA
The Immigration DNA Test is processed through an AABB-accredited DNA laboratory partner. AABB-accredited DNA testing accepted by USCIS and US embassies. No insurance, no doctor’s referral, and no surprise bills — you see the full price before any sample is collected.
Because this test is intended for legal or immigration purposes, we follow strict chain-of-custody from collection to lab processing. Each participant presents a government-issued ID, the collection is performed in our office by a trained collector, and samples are sealed and shipped under tracked custody.
A cheek swab is painless, takes about a minute per participant, and produces a sample with millions of cells the lab can analyze. No blood draw is required for the great majority of DNA tests.
Why people get this test
- Court-ordered paternity or child-support proceedings
- USCIS or US embassy immigration cases
- Birth-certificate amendments
- Estate, inheritance, or probate disputes
- Adoption-related legal filings
What to expect
From check-in to results — what your visit looks like
Most visits take under 15 minutes. Here’s the full arc, start to finish.
How to prepare
Avoid eating, drinking, smoking, or chewing gum for at least 30 minutes before your sample is collected. Other than that, there is nothing to prepare — just bring photo ID for each participant.
During your visit
For legal collections we verify each participant’s identity, photograph them for the chain-of-custody packet, and swab the inside of each cheek for roughly 30 seconds. The whole appointment usually runs about 15 minutes per participant.

FAQ
Immigration DNA Test — what people ask
Specific questions about the immigration dna test. For anything not covered, call 571-500-7030.
Will this test hold up in court?
Yes. This test follows AABB chain-of-custody requirements and is court-admissible in Virginia and most US jurisdictions, as well as for USCIS and embassy immigration matters.
How accurate is DNA testing?
When the alleged father is the biological father, modern STR-based DNA tests typically produce a probability of paternity of 99.9% or higher. When he is not, the result is a definitive exclusion.
Can the test be done if one party is missing?
Yes. Grandparent, sibling, and avuncular tests can establish biological relationships when a direct parent is unavailable. They are slightly less definitive but often conclusive.
